Job summary

Marathon Petroleum Company LP is seeking a Mechanical Systems Technician to maintain mechanical equipment at asphalt and light product terminals. The role covers mechanical, electrical, and vapor control systems, with emphasis on PLC and electrical troubleshooting.

Based in Montgomery, AL or Mount Airy, LA, the position includes a company vehicle, tools, and uniforms. You will work with operations and engineers to ensure reliability, perform preventive maintenance, and support emergency repairs

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required; associate degree preferred.
• 2 years of related experience is preferred.
• Terminal operations, electrical, or PLC programming experience preferred.
• Driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect equipment and perform tests to identify malfunctions and deficiencies.
• Determine repair scope and replacement/retention decisions.
• Repair and maintain mechanical and electrical components; disassemble and recondition or replace parts.
• Schedule and perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and testing.
• Install mechanical/electrical components and equipment.
• Maintain maintenance records and work orders; track equipment history.
• Respond to emergency repairs as needed.
• Collaborate with engineers, reliability staff, and operations to improve equipment reliability.
