Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking an Operations & Systems Engineer to design, develop, and document mechanical systems used in our products. You will transform concepts into manufacturable designs, ensure compliance with codes and standards, and work with cross-functional teams to deliver complete solutions.

The role requires 5+ years of mechanical design experience in industrial environments, proficiency with SolidWorks, and strong analytical skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of mechanical design experience in an industrial manufacturing or engineered equipment environment.
• Experience with RNG, compressed gas systems, or process equipment is an asset.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks and preparing manufacturing drawings and BOMs.
• Knowledge of pressure vessels, piping systems, compressible gas systems, and applicable industry codes and standards.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills with ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review equipment specifications and bid packages; perform technical bid evaluations.
• Review and approve drawings; provide fabrication and technical support.
• Interpret equipment drawings, P&IDs, and general arrangement drawings.
• Develop designs and specifications for mechanical systems and materials; assist with equipment evaluation.
• Collaborate with electrical, controls, manufacturing, and project teams to integrate complete product solutions.
• Support procurement by preparing technical specs and evaluating vendor submissions.
• Provide technical support during fabrication, assembly, testing, commissioning, and product improvements.
• Prepare documentation to support manufacturing, installation, operation, and maintenance.
