Job summary

Progressive Companies seeks a Mechanical Engineer II - Logistics - Built Environment to design and deliver high-performance mechanical systems for a variety of building types. You will translate engineering concepts into fully coordinated solutions aligned with project goals, budgets, and timelines.

You will collaborate across disciplines, conduct field investigations, and use Revit/AutoCAD to produce accurate models and docs, while supporting QA/QC and client relationships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (ABET-accredited) and PE license required.
• 5+ years of experience designing mechanical systems for building projects.
• Proven experience with load calculations, equipment sizing, and HVAC/mechanical system design.
• Strong knowledge of construction documentation, QA/QC processes, and applicable codes and standards.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and design mechanical systems including load analysis, equipment sizing, ductwork, hydronic, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
• Coordinate mechanical design efforts through schematic design, design development, and construction documentation phases.
• Conduct field investigations, site visits, and project meetings with Project Managers and multidisciplinary teams.
• Use Revit, AutoCAD, and BSD SpecLink to produce accurate models and construction documents.
• Collaborate with internal disciplines and external consultants to ensure coordinated, conflict-free project documentation.
• Support QA/QC processes and ensure deliverables align with Progressive standards, budgets, and schedules.
• Assist in proposal development and monitor project scope, budget, and schedule with the Senior Mechanical Engineer.
• Communicate changes in scope, risks, or budget impacts to project leadership in a timely manner.
• Maintain strong client relationships and demonstrate responsiveness and technical confidence.
