Job summary

Progressive Companies is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Designer I to support designing HVAC, energy, and mechanical systems for commercial buildings within the Logistics market. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to balance technical excellence with budget and schedule considerations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• Pursuing the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam is preferred.
• Post-graduation professional engineering experience is preferred.
• Comfort using Revit and AutoCAD is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare building models and detailed contract documents for various project types.
• Receive mentorship from experienced Mechanical Engineers.
• Research plumbing, mechanical, and fuel/gas codes with guidance.
• Perform basic HVAC and mechanical system sizing.
• Contribute to energy modeling and BAS concepts.
• Gain proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD for presentations and production.
• Assist in selecting sensors, actuators, and basic control strategies.
• Collaborate within a multi-disciplinary team on projects.
