Job summary

Energy Systems Design, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer to design and draft detailed drawings for mechanical systems, including central plants, HVAC, and energy management.

You will produce construction documents for design-bid and design-build and perform energy analyses and LEED-related tasks. The role requires collaboration across engineering disciplines, attention to codes, and effective communication to meet project deadlines while maintaining quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (preferred but not required).
• 3+ years of mechanical design experience in consulting engineering.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and REVIT MEP.
• Ability to meet fast-paced deadlines while maintaining quality.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Designs for central plants, chiller and cooling tower replacements, HVAC and distribution systems.
• Provide Construction Documents for Design-Bid and Design-Build approaches.
• Complete due diligence evaluations of existing building systems.
• Provide energy studies and life cycle evaluations.
• Design for LEED certification and energy/building management.
• Construction cost estimating and energy audits.
• Assist with proposals on system descriptions, diagrams and calculations.
• Coordinate in-house mechanical and electrical engineering services.
• Conduct construction observation and commissioning for LEED certification.
• Interpret codes and coordinate with utility companies/agencies.

This Mechanical Project Engineer position manages, designs and drafts detailed construction drawings, sketches and revisions per architectural backgrounds for mechanical engineering systems.

• Designs for Central plants, Chiller Replacements/Cooling Tower Replacements, Mechanical Air-Conditioning and Distribution Systems, Exhaust/Ventilation, Life Safety Systems, Critical Environmental Control, Energy/Building Management, Plumbing
• Provide Construction Documents for Design-Bid and Design-Build Approaches
• Complete Due Diligence Evaluations of Existing Building Systems
• Provide Energy Studies and Life Cycle Evaluations
• Design for LEED Certification
• Construction Cost Estimating
• Provide Energy Audits

Preferred Requirements

• Self-manager to accomplish multiple project responsibilities
