Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Systems Engineer to support the design, engineering, procurement, manufacturing, installation, and commissioning of auxiliary mechanical systems for gas turbine and power generation projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and prepare technical specifications, requirements, and engineering documentation in accordance with established design standards.
- Review internal and external engineering designs, drawings, calculations, and technical documentation.
- Evaluate supplier bids, provide technical clarifications, and support supplier selection.
- Coordinate with suppliers and vendors regarding technical requirements, design issues, and project deliverables.
- Ensure supplier solutions comply with engineering specifications, customer requirements, and project interfaces.
- Support Procurement with technical evaluations, supplier questions, and engineering-related issues.
- Work closely with Lead Engineers, Project Managers, Customers, Procurement, Suppliers, and other Engineering teams.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues encountered during manufacturing and project execution.
- Provide technical support during manufacturing inspections, installation, commissioning, field activities, and warranty support.
- Participate in shop inspections and provide onsite technical assistance when required.
- Support proposal and bid activities by providing technical input and engineering expertise.
- Manage multiple technical activities while meeting project schedules, quality requirements, and organizational targets.
- Collaborate with global engineering teams on cross-functional and cross-product initiatives.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- 5–10 years of relevant mechanical engineering experience.
- Experience with gas turbines, power generation equipment, or related energy systems.
- Detailed knowledge of auxiliary mechanical systems such as: Air Intake Systems, Air-Cooled Heat Exchangers, Ventilation Systems, Acoustic/Noise Enclosures, Fire Protection Systems
- Experience with technical specifications, engineering requirements, and design reviews.
- Experience evaluating supplier proposals and resolving technical clarifications.
- Experience supporting manufacturing, installation, commissioning, or field activities.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional and international engineering teams.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a project-driven environment.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in gas turbine or power plant engineering.
- Experience working with major power generation or energy equipment.
- Familiarity with engineering standards and customer-specific requirements.
- Experience supporting procurement and supplier negotiations.
- Experience with field engineering, commissioning, or warranty activities.
