We Search People is assisting a Connecticut-based architectural and engineering design consultancy in finding a Mechanical Engineer for their Buildings division. This full-time, onsite role centers on designing mechanical systems for the built environment, spanning from design through construction close-out on a variety of projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or HVAC engineering.
• Several years of experience designing mechanical systems for built environments.
• Experience in an architectural/engineering consultancy is a plus.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit; EIT/PE licensure and LEED accreditation advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Scheduling and selecting mechanical equipment, including C&U design and cooling/heating load calculations.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, civil, structural and architectural teams to develop drawings and specifications.
• Write technical reports with findings and conclusions and produce accurate documentation.
• Ensure compliance with building, energy, and mechanical codes and regulations.

My client, an architectural and engineering design consultancy firm based in Connecticut, are looking for a full-time Mechanical Engineer for their Buildings division. This is an onsite position that is focused on designing mechanical systems for the built environment.

We are looking for an experienced mechanical engineer who has experience within the full project cycle from the design phase through the final construction close-out on a wide array of projects including educational/municipal/workplace projects and more.

Responsibilities:

• Scheduling and selecting mechanical equipment, automatic temperature controls system design and specification, and cooling/heating load calculations.
• Work within mechanical, electrical, civil, structural and architectural project teams to develop drawing and specification documents for issuance to contractors and building owners.
• The ability to write technical reports summarizing research and specifications with findings and conclusions, generating complete, accurate, and concise documentation is required.
• Working knowledge of relevant building, energy, and mechanical system building codes, regulations, and compliance is crucial to the role.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or HVAC engineering, or a related field.
• Several years experience of working as a Mechanical Engineering in designing mechanical systems within the built environment.
• Experience of working within an A&E consultancy firm would be highly beneficial.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.
• EIT certification and PE licensure highly advantageous, as would LEED accreditation.
