Placements24 is seeking a Mechanical Systems Design Engineer to design, develop, and test mechanical systems for agricultural machinery, from concept to prototyping, using CAD/CAE tools.

You will collaborate with electrical and software teams, perform analyses, document results, and support production with optimization for manufacturing. Hybrid work in Queenstown.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 4+ years in mechanical design and systems engineering.
• Proficiency with CAD/CAE tools (SolidWorks, Inventor) and CAE analysis.
• Strong understanding of mechatronics, kinematics and control systems.
• Experience with agricultural machinery design is a plus.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Great communication and teamwork abilities.
• Willingness to relocate to Queenstown, Eastern Cape with hybrid flexibility.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical systems, sub-systems and components for agricultural machinery and equipment.
• Create detailed 3D models, drawings and assemblies using CAD software.
• Perform stress, thermal and kinematic analyses to validate designs.
• Collaborate with electrical and software engineers to integrate systems.

Key Responsibilities
