Yale NewHaven Health is seeking a Maintenance Technician to assist in HVAC/refrigeration, plumbing, and mechanical systems for hospital facilities. Under supervision, you will support the HVAC lead and respond to service calls to keep critical infrastructure running.
You will log work in CMMS, document findings, and coordinate with contractors and staff to ensure safe, reliable operations. This is not an apprenticeship; candidates should have basic technical training and a valid driver's license.

Under the general supervision of the Manager of Mechanical Systems, aids in the installation, service and maintenance of mechanical systems equipment. Assists in the repairs of electrical and electromechanical equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of critical facility infrastructure. Logs all work-related activities using the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). Responds to service calls, alarms, and emergency situations as required while maintaining compliance with safety, regulatory, and departmental standards. Works collaboratively with staff, contractors, and other departments to support uninterrupted facility operations and a high level of customer service. This is NOT an Apprenticeship position.

Position requires high school graduation or GED, Some trade school preferred. Including or supplemented by technical courses in electricity, electronics, machinery or equivalent on the job training.
Trade school or formal on the job training plus three (3) to six (6) months of hands-on experience in HVAC/Refrigeration, plumbing or mechanical preferred.
Valid Driver's License with a clean record.
Basic knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems. Works independently with appropriate supervision. Keep accurate records on time and material used. Computer skills are required.
Ability to lift and transport equipment weighing up to 50lbs. Ability to climb ladders up to 30 feet, and work in high places. Work in mechanical areas and on roofs in all weather conditions. Assist in snow removal. Work in patient rooms and various public areas. Work with hazardous materials and chemicals, with proper precautions. Ability to work independently. This is NOT an apprenticeship position.
