Role & responsibilities
1. Planning and Preparation
- Review construction drawings, project specifications, and mechanical layouts for each site.
- Plan daily, weekly, and monthly schedules for mechanical work such as PEB structure erection, bolting, welding, and equipment installation.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other site supervisors to align mechanical work with overall construction timelines.
2. Supervision of PEB Erection
- Oversee the erection of steel frames, rafters, columns, wall and roof panels, and other PEB components.
- Ensure proper handling, alignment, and installation of PEB components as per drawings and standards.
- Monitor and guide rigging, lifting operations using cranes, and secure fastening (bolting/welding) techniques.
- Address site-specific challenges (e.g., soil conditions, accessibility, crane positioning) during erection.
3. Quality Assurance
- Inspect materials upon delivery to verify conformance with specifications.
- Ensure adherence to PEB erection tolerances and alignment standards.
- Conduct regular quality checks on bolted joints, weld seams, structural connections and Roof and wall cladding sheet installation standards.
- Report and rectify any deviations or non-conformances.
4. Safety Compliance
- Enforce site safety protocols, including use of PPE, working at heights, and crane/lifting safety.
- Conduct toolbox talks and safety briefings for erection crews.
- Ensure scaffolding, ladders, and lifting equipment are used safely and correctly.
- Prepare risk assessments and method statements for critical activities.
5. Coordination and Communication
- Liaise with civil supervisors to ensure foundations and anchor bolts are ready for structure erection.
- Coordinate with planning teams for timely delivery and storage of PEB components.
- Communicate regularly with client & project management to update on progress, issues, and manpower needs.
6. Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain site records such as daily progress reports, inspection checklists, and manpower logs.
- Document erection sequences, any changes to original plans, and incidents.
- Prepare completion and handover reports for mechanical work.
7. Manpower and Resource Management
- Manage and allocate mechanical crew (fitters, riggers, welders, etc.) efficiently across sites.
- Ensure adequate tools, equipment, and consumables are available.
- Provide on-site training or instructions to workers as required.
Preferred candidate profile
Qualification-Diploma/B.Tech(Mechanical)
Experience- 2 to 4 years
