Job summary

Power Design is seeking a Mechanical Superintendent for our Field Operations team in NC, with travel to Charlotte as needed. This role leads the project team to complete work on time with high quality, safety, and customer focus.

The candidate should have strong field supervision experience on multimillion-dollar projects and be familiar with HVAC/plumbing systems. We value integrity, teamwork and growth as we build reliable, innovative solutions for our clients.

Qualifications

  • OSHA 30 certification preferred.
  • Experience with complex duct systems and hydronic piping.
  • HVAC/plumbing leadership with a clear career path.
  • Journeyman/master mechanical or plumbing license preferred.
  • Proficient knowledge of IMC, IPC, IBC; local codes.

Responsibilities

  • Manage, evaluate and train field project team members.
  • Plan, organize and direct production of contracted scope of work.
  • Build and maintain relationships with customers, inspectors and trades.
  • Coordinate production with other trades and GC to resolve conflicts.
  • Ensure installations meet quality and code standards.
  • Manage material and personnel to meet schedule.
  • Adhere to quality, safety and best practices.

We're seeking a strong mechanical superintendent who is willing to travel temporarily to our growing Charlotte market.

About The Position…

The mechanical superintendent position at Power Design is a critical leadership role responsible for providing direction to the project team to complete the project on time while maintaining a high-level quality, safety and customer loyalty. The Mechanical Superintendent has significant impact on the success of the company and delivering on our mission to be the most trusted name in the industry.

  • Manage, evaluate and train field project team members.
  • Plan, organize and direct production of contracted scope of work.
  • Build and maintain relationships with customers, inspectors and other trades.
  • Coordinate production and attend meetings with other trades as well as the general contractor to identify and resolve any conflicts while providing excellent customer service.
  • Ensure all installations meet quality and mechanical code standards.
  • Manage material and personnel requirements necessary to meet schedule.
  • Adhere to Power Design’s standards of quality, safety and best practices.

here’s what we’re looking for…

  • OSHA 30 certification preferred.
  • Experience with complex Duct Systems, sheet metal, grease duct, exhaust duct, fire dampers.
  • Experience with Hydronic piping systems, Chiller, Boiler, Water Source Heat Pump refrigeration systems.
  • Progressive Mechanical, HVAC, or Plumbing leaders who love using technology and want a clear career path
  • Skilled field supervisor with at least five years of experience managing a scope and running multimillion-dollar projects
  • Active journeyman or master Mechanical or Plumbing license preferred
  • Proficient knowledge of the IMC, IPC, and IBC Standards; local codes; and construction safety requirements
  • Knowledge in Managing Plumbing Systems and / or HVAC Air distribution systems a plus.
  • Familiarity with project management and construction technology applications such as Bluebeam, ProCore, BIM 360, CrewConnect, FieldWire, and/or Open Space preferred
