Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC in McGregor, Texas, seeks a Mechanical Specialist, Construction to design, build, and activate infrastructure for its campus facilities. You will lead cross-disciplinary tasks, coordinating with engineers and trades to deliver capital projects on time and within budget.

Responsibilities include overseeing HVAC, electrical, fire protection, and plumbing systems; reviewing drawings; maintaining records; and supporting engineering with budgeting and scheduling.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
• 5+ years of professional experience working with HVAC, pneumatic, mechanical, or electrical systems.
• Degree or certificate in HVAC technology from an accredited technical school or college.
• Knowledge of HVAC, electrical safety, pneumatic principles, tubing, pipe-fittings, rotating machinery (pumps, air compressors, etc.), and fasteners.
• Experience with chiller plants, DoAS, ARU in industrial or commercial environments.
• Ability to read schematic diagrams and architectural plans.
• Knowledge of building management and construction best practices.
• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Experience with project management and scheduling software.
• Basic proficiency with AutoCAD and/or Revit.
• Experience with major construction project management (estimating, cost control, schedule, contractor mgmt).
• Experience reading shop drawings, blueprints, technical manuals.
• Ability to work independently and in a team; strong communication.
• Manufacturing facility experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage, coordinate, and provide liaison for construction projects and maintenance operations at the United States Digital Space LLC McGregor Campus to ensure vendors meet standards while delivering services, materials, and craftsmanship.
• Interact with tradesmen, contractors, and building officials to coordinate and execute maintenance, repair, and installation of facilities support equipment.
• Direct system repairs of HVAC equipment, electrical systems, fire protection, water and plumbing infrastructure.
• Direct construction projects to ensure work is safely completed with minimal interruption to operations.
• Assist engineering team with budgetary trades, drawings, and design to meet design intent and timelines and budget.
• Keep accurate records of daily logs, progress reports, and financial reports.
• Willing to support other projects as needed.
