Job summary

Linde in Deer Park, Texas seeks a senior maintenance specialist for rotating equipment to lead planning, execution, and optimization of mechanical maintenance across facilities.

Responsibilities include guiding internal teams and contractors, supporting reliability programs with data analysis and root-cause investigations, and traveling up to 50% to support sites while maintaining safe, cost-efficient operations.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience installing, troubleshooting, inspecting, maintaining, repairing, and overhauling rotating equipment in an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Strong expertise in troubleshooting, root-cause failure analysis, work planning, cost estimating, and developing overhaul strategies.
  • Knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance practices for rotating and reciprocating equipment.
  • Proficiency with precision measurement tools for inspections and maintenance of rotating equipment.
  • CMMS experience and MS Office proficiency; ability to manage multiple priorities and lead contractor activities.
  • Excellent documentation, communication, and teamwork abilities.
  • Advanced technical education with vibration analysis and balancing experience preferred.

  • Develop and standardize maintenance documentation and processes for rotating equipment.
  • Collaborate with operations, maintenance, engineering, reliability, and contractor teams to ensure cost-effective operation.
  • Travel approximately 50% domestically to support facilities and provide off-hours coverage.

Job description

Responsibilities
  • Plan, schedule, coordinate, and execute major installations, inspections, repairs, and overhauls of rotating equipment including centrifugal, reciprocating, and screw compressors, centrifugal pumps, expansion turbines, and high- and low-speed gearboxes.
  • Lead internal maintenance personnel and contractors in the safe and efficient execution of mechanical maintenance activities, turnarounds, and special projects including planning and cost estimation.
  • Provide onsite and remote technical support, troubleshooting expertise, and independent engineering recommendations to resolve equipment issues and improve asset performance.
  • Support reliability programs by analyzing equipment performance and predictive maintenance data, identifying chronic asset issues, conducting root‑cause analyses, and implementing corrective actions to improve reliability and reduce repetitive failures.
  • Drive timely resolution of critical mechanical issues while balancing safety, reliability, operational, and cost objectives.
  • Develop and standardize maintenance documentation, reporting tools, and work processes for rotating equipment used by internal teams and contractors.
  • Collaborate with operations, maintenance, engineering, reliability, and contractor teams to ensure the safe, reliable, and cost-effective operation of mechanical assets.
  • Travel approximately 50% domestically to support facility maintenance and reliability activities, provide off‑hours support as needed, and work safely in varying field conditions, including elevated work areas.
Qualifications
  • Minimum ten (10) years of experience installing, troubleshooting, inspecting, maintaining, repairing, and overhauling rotating equipment in an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Strong technical expertise in troubleshooting, root‑cause failure analysis, work planning, cost estimating, and developing overhaul and repair strategies for rotating and fixed equipment.
  • Working knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance practices for rotating and reciprocating equipment.
  • Proficiency in the use of precision measurement tools for equipment inspections, assembly, alignment, and maintenance of rotating equipment.
  • Proficiency with CMMS systems (EAM preferred) and Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Project.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, lead contractor-supported maintenance activities, and drive issues to successful resolution.
  • Strong communication, documentation, recordkeeping, and team collaboration skills.
  • Associate's Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, completion of a machinist or millwright apprenticeship program, and hands‑on experience with vibration analysis and dynamic balancing preferred.
