Job summary

QCS Staffing is seeking a Mechanical SME HVAC for Washington, DC on an initial 12-month contract to support one of the largest biopharmaceutical projects in the country.

You will engage with project stakeholders, prepare technical requirements, ensure specifications reach the design contractor, and define deliverables for CD, BD, and DD, including validation for cleanroom HVAC and fresh air systems.

Qualifications

• Capital project experience in pharma/biotech is required.
• Experience with HVAC systems, including cleanroom HVAC and fresh air.
• Strong collaboration with design contractors and equipment suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Engage stakeholders to ensure needs are reflected in the Concept Design (CD).
• Prepare Technical Requirements Specifications for all systems.
• Ensure specs are issued to the design contractor in a timely manner.

Our client is currently seeking the skills of a Mechanical SME to support their team. Our client develops and delivers life changing medicines to millions of people globally and as part of their growth. What You’ll Deliver

• Engage with key project stakeholders to ensure their needs are understood and accurately reflected in the Concept Design (CD).
• Prepare Project Technical Requirements Specifications for all systems, including performance requirements and applicable project or industry standards.
• Ensure all relevant specifications are issued to the design contractor in a complete and timely manner.
• Define and agree design deliverables with the design contractor for all project design stages (CD, BD, DD), including the required level of detail and review.
• Review the design contractor’s responses to technical requirements to confirm that all project needs have been addressed correctly.

Experience required

• Relevant capital project experience, with strong technical and execution exposure on major capital investments—ideally within the pharmaceutical or biotech sector.
• Experience working with HVAC systems, including fresh air supply, extraction systems, and cleanroom HVAC.
• Strong track record collaborating with design contractors and equipment suppliers on large-scale, complex projects, ensuring alignment, quality, and timely delivery across multidisciplinary teams.
