SURGE Staffing seeks an experienced HVAC Mechanical Engineer to design, procure, construct, and commission industrial HVAC and mechanical systems for laboratory and process facilities in Wisconsin. The role requires collaboration with other engineers to develop integrated solutions for complex environments.

The ideal candidate has strong technical knowledge, excellent client service, and the ability to adapt to changing project priorities while traveling to customer facilities for design

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering and several years of industrial HVAC design experience.
• Experience with consulting engineering or design/build mechanical contracting is expected.
• Strong communication, time management, and client-service abilities are essential.

Responsibilities

• Design and support industrial HVAC and mechanical systems from development through procurement, construction, and commissioning.
• Develop solutions for chilled water, cooling towers, process water, hot water, steam, gas, refrigeration, and compressed air.
• Design and coordinate comfort and process air systems.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to meet project requirements.
• Support equipment procurement, installation oversight, and system commissioning.
• Manage multiple priorities while meeting customer deadlines and adapting to scope changes.
• Communicate technical requirements and project updates to customers and internal teams.
• Travel to customer facilities for design meetings, installation oversight, and commissioning.

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced HVAC Mechanical Engineer to support the design, procurement, construction, and commissioning of industrial HVAC and mechanical systems for laboratory, process, and industrial projects.

This role collaborates with engineers across multiple disciplines to develop integrated mechanical solutions for technically complex research and development and production environments. The ideal candidate brings strong technical knowledge, excellent client service skills, and the ability to manage changing project priorities.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and support industrial HVAC and mechanical systems from initial development through procurement, construction, and commissioning.
• Develop solutions involving chilled water, cooling tower water, process water, hot water, steam, gas, refrigeration, compressed air, and fuel systems.
• Design and coordinate comfort and process air systems.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to meet project requirements.
• Support equipment procurement, installation supervision, and system commissioning.
• Manage multiple priorities while meeting customer deadlines and adapting to changes in scope, schedule, and design.
• Communicate technical requirements and project updates to customers and internal teams.
• Travel to customer facilities for design meetings, installation oversight, and commissioning.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent engineering discipline.
• Several years of industrial HVAC and mechanical systems design experience with a consulting engineering firm or design/build mechanical contractor.
• Knowledge of chilled water, cooling tower water, process water, hot water, steam, gas, refrigeration, compressed air, fuel, and comfort and process air systems.
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple tasks and provide excellent client service.
• Ability to meet deadlines and respond effectively to changing project requirements.
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively across engineering disciplines.
• Willingness and ability to travel to customer facilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working for a mechanical contracting firm.
• Experience with fire suppression systems, plumbing systems, or PLC control systems.
