Job summary

DRT Metal Packaging is seeking a technically minded Sales Engineer to help manufacturers improve equipment performance, reliability, and productivity. This role blends engineering, customer engagement, and business strategy across parts, service, technical solutions, equipment upgrades, and capital equipment.

This position emphasizes technical problem-solving and delivering measurable value to customers, with day-one benefits and strong mentorship within engineering and commercial leadership

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Process Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related technical discipline.
• Strong technical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Develop a strong understanding of customer operations, manufacturing processes, and installed equipment.
• Analyze equipment performance, service history, and operational needs to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Recommend technical solutions including replacement parts, upgrades, training, maintenance programs, and capital equipment.
• Partner with Engineering, Operations, Service, and Commercial teams to develop customer-focused solutions.
• Prepare technical proposals, quotations, and value-driven recommendations.
• Manage opportunities from initial discovery through implementation and follow-up.
• Support strategic account growth through proactive customer engagement and lifecycle planning.
• Utilize CRM and business systems to track opportunities and customer activity.
