Job summary

Georgia-Pacific Brewton Mill is seeking a Reliability Engineer to lead RCFA/FMEA activities, support EHS excellence, and drive predictive maintenance programs. You will facilitate prioritization, analyze data, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve asset reliability and uptime in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

You will develop, implement, and support maintenance strategies, review new equipment plans for reliability, and mentor personnel in reliability practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or significant related experience.
• Reliability experience in manufacturing/industrial or military environment.
• Experience using Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Project, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Lead RCFA and FMEA efforts to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Support Environmental, Health & Safety excellence initiatives.
• Support lubrication, precision and predictive maintenance programs.
• Facilitate area prioritization meetings to set maintenance schedules.
• Provide support to operations with emphasis on reliability improvements.
• Lead continuous improvement efforts for asset and site reliability.
• Develop and implement preventative/predictive maintenance strategies (vibration, lubrication, oil analysis, ultrasonic, infrared, NDT, thermography).

Job description

• Participate in and lead effective Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) and Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA) efforts to identify root causes of complex and/or repetitive problems and put in place executable corrective actions
• Support in all areas to meet Environmental, Health & Safety excellence
• Support the Mill Lubrication Program, Precision and Predictive maintenance programs
• Facilitate area Prioritization meetings to set effective maintenance work schedules
• Provide support to operational areas with emphasis on short and long-term reliability improvements
• Provide leadership to drive continuous improvement with asset and site reliability
• Develop, implement, and support preventative and predictive maintenance strategies for new and existing equipment (vibration analysis, lubrication program, oil analysis, ultrasonic, infrared, NDT, thermography, MCE testing, and precision maintenance)
• Review plans for new equipment and contribute to the Design for Reliability process by validating reliability and maintainability of the systems
• Support implementation of reliability processes aimed at developing skilled maintenance and operating personnel who operate with a reliability-centric mindset
• Analyze operational data (KPIs, OEE, etc.) to identify gaps and areas of potential improvement
• Work with other Reliability Engineers to share knowledge and gain expertise in development of mill wide reliability strategies
• Actively participate in design and implementation of Asset Improvement Strategies for systems to improve production and uptime
• Apply sound logic and scientific principles to problem solving
• Effectively manage multiple priorities and customers simultaneously
• Work both individually with little supervision and together with a team

Our Team

The Brewton Mill produces white top linerboard and solid bleached sulfate (SBS) paperboard. The SBS material is used to make GP's Dixie plates. Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or significant related experience
• Reliability experience in a manufacturing/industrial or military environment
• Experience using Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Project, and Outlook

What Will Put You Ahead

• Pulp and Paper industry experience
• Certification or continued education in reliability applications, practices, and management
• Experience with Reliability Improvement tools (Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA), Preventative/Predictive maintenance, KPIs)
• Experience with vibration, ultrasound, or infrared analysis
• Six Sigma experience or certification
