Job description

Chemours is seeking a Mechanical/Reliability Engineer to join our growing Manufacturing Technology team at the Chambers Works location in Deepwater, NJ. The role reports directly to the Manufacturing Technology Manager.

Responsibilities
  • Provide mechanical engineering support to the manufacturing area operations.
  • Provide mechanical engineering expertise for project work to ensure compliance with specifications, engineering standards, and quality assurance.
  • Supply mechanical expertise for troubleshooting and modifying operating equipment and facilities.
  • Handle technical troubleshooting and training to the operations and maintenance teams.
  • Lead Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) for equipment failures.
  • Develop appropriate equipment maintenance plans including equipment checks, predictive & preventative maintenance (PPM), critical spare parts, and SAP data utilizing criticality assessments and Failure Mode & Effect Analysis (FMEA).
  • Analyze equipment trends, historical data, and uptime data to recommend and justify improvements to obtain the lowest life‑cycle cost on different classes of equipment.
  • Lead preventative maintenance (PM) optimization efforts.
  • Develop and implement strategies for improving mechanical reliability.
  • Actively work with the Technology, Maintenance and Production organizations as a role model utilizing, training, and coaching advanced reliability techniques and tools to develop, maintain and drive a reliability culture.
Required Qualifications
  • BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Minimum 1 year of Mechanical Engineering work experience in a chemical manufacturing/hazardous industrial setting or related industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead through influence management.
  • Comfortable working in a team environment with high initiative and self‑motivation, and flexibility to monitor and move projects forward quickly and safely.
  • Ability to make decisions, work independently, and communicate effectively to a broad audience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a hands‑on attitude.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5+ years of Mechanical Engineering work experience in a chemical manufacturing or hazardous industrial setting.
  • Experience with SAP Plant Maintenance module.
  • Knowledge of maintenance and reliability best practices, rotating equipment, alignment techniques, basic materials science, material selection and properties.
  • Knowledge of lubrication, tribology, oil analysis, vibration analysis, data interpretation, and nondestructive testing fundamentals.
  • Basic understanding of RCFA and FMEA, data analysis techniques, statistical interpretation, evidence preservation, engineering design standards, cost/Capital analysis and justification.
  • Experience with Continuous Improvement tools and methodologies.

Pay Range: $97,843.00 – $152,880.00. Chemours Level: 25. Annual Bonus Target: 6%.
