Job Title: Mechanical Quality Control Inspector

Department: Quality

Reports To: Quality & Compliance Manager

Position requires candidates to be U.S. persons as defined in ITAR, 22CFR 120.15 (U.S. Citizenship or Resident Alien Status)

GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The Mechanical Quality Control Inspector is responsible for verifying that detailed machined parts meet engineering drawing requirements. Shift time: 6:00 am - 3:00 pm

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Perform precision measurements on machined parts, understanding Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD & T).
• Perform layout mechanical inspections from machine shops.
• Use calibrated hand tools, ring and plug gages, and other standard measuring instruments like calipers, micrometers, height gages, surface plates.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
• Identify and document nonconformances as required.

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, and ABILITIES:

• Proficient in using hand tools like calipers, micrometers, ring gages, plug gages, CMM, Keyence, and other measuring instruments.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
• Strong process-based skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Technical and computer skills, including navigating customer order databases.
• Basic geometry skills.
• Ability to interface with engineering and manufacturing staff to resolve quality issues.
• Team player.

REQUIRED EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma or equivalent; college degree is a plus.
• Experience with quality control techniques.
• Experience measuring with calipers, gauges, rulers, meters, height gages, and other measuring instruments.
• Minimum of 2 years of quality inspector experience.
