Job summary

U.S. Coast Guard is seeking a Mechanical Engineer (GS-0830-12) to join the Training Center Birmingham Southern Technical Branch in Birmingham, Alabama.

The position involves project management within a multi-disciplinary team, planning and executing complex facility-related engineering designs and reviews for new construction and renovations. • Plan objectives, milestones and phases for complex projects; determine scope and designs for diverse engineering projects.
• Conceive, design, plan and execute large and/or complex engineering designs for CG facilities and related structures.
• Provide technical guidance to AE contractors; review plans, specifications and cost estimates; support contracts and permits; perform NEPA determinations.
