Description
Compensation: $120K+
We are seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer who will perform engineering calculations, layout, and design of systems in accordance with established policies, standards, procedures, and codes. The role requires exercising judgment with minimal supervision, applying practical knowledge to resolve project-related issues, and making independent decisions. The engineer may supervise subordinate personnel or assist other engineers or designers occasionally.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum 8 years of relevant work experience
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)
Responsibilities and Skills
- Perform engineering calculations, layout, and design following policies, standards, procedures, and codes.
- Apply practical knowledge to resolve project issues.
- Make independent engineering decisions.
- Supervise or assist engineers and designers as needed.
- Knowledge of discipline-specific and building codes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Leadership skills to educate clients on design and project requirements.
- Coordinate with Project Engineer and Project Manager on scope, schedule, budget, and design review.
- Estimate man-hours and lead design efforts to complete projects on time and within budget.
- Implement system types, prepare construction documents, and review engineering designs.
- Client communication and quality assurance.
- Mentor and motivate engineering designers, uphold high standards and professional integrity.
- Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining quality.
