Job summary

Yearout Mechanical, a Legence company, seeks a Project Engineer to act as the operational hub for complex HVAC/Plumbing projects across NM and TX. You will partner with Project Managers and field teams to keep scope, schedule, cost, quality, and safety on track.

You’ll manage documentation, scheduling, BIM/CADD coordination, vendor relationships, and client communication. Onsite/in-office role; sponsorship not available; no remote work.

Qualifications

• Background in construction management or mechanical engineering with 3–5 years in commercial construction or 10+ years in lieu of degree.
• HVAC/Plumbing contractor experience on mid-to-large projects preferred.
• Familiarity with BIM/CADD workflows (Revit/Navis/AutoCAD a plus).
• Strong written/verbal communication and collaboration with GC/owner and trades.

Responsibilities

• Own RFIs, submittals, change orders, meeting minutes, and logs.
• Update master schedules (labor, equipment, fabrication, rentals).
• Support job cost control, vendor pricing, POs, and progress billings.
• Assist QA/QC, pre-task analyses, site walks, toolbox talks; drive punchlist closure.
• Coordinate model updates and field integration with VDC/CADD partners.
• Source materials, track deliveries, resolve shortages; maintain vendor relationships.
• Prepare for and participate in project meetings; support subcontractor selection.
• Assemble O&M manuals, as-builts, and final turnover documents.
