Job summary

Vanderlande Industries GmbH is seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer II to support a major North American e-commerce client program within the RMR team. You will coordinate with electrical, controls, and installation teams, translate sales drawings into functional mechanical designs, and manage 3D models and installation drawings.

The role emphasizes strong teamwork, client communication, and the ability to balance technical execution with project goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or ME/ET.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience (or 8 years with an Associate degree).
• Willingness to travel domestically up to 33% with some international travel.
• Ability to translate concepts into detailed system designs and drawings.
• Proactive collaboration with customers, vendors, and internal teams.

Responsibilities

• Translate sales drawings into a functional mechanical system description for RfP.
• Optimize design within budget with other disciplines.
• Develop 3D models and manage clash detection.
• Produce 2D customer approval and installation drawings.
• Perform spatial analyses for clearance and forklift aisles.
• Engineer non-standard mechanical interfaces and ensure safety standards.
• Create motor manifests with electrical/controls requirements.
• Document decisions with installation docs and instructions.
• Travel to project sites for site surveys and support installations.
