Mechanical Project Engineer - Herndon, VA

Purpose

Perform all levels of mechanical (HVAC) design, including developing construction documents.

Responsibilities

• Design complex mechanical systems in accordance with current code requirements and sound engineering principles.
• Oversee designs through project construction and completion.
• Communicate effectively with engineers, project managers, and clients.
• Conduct field visits to document existing conditions.
• Produce accurate construction documents within schedule and budget.
• Assist in developing construction cost estimates.
• Participate in meetings and coordinate project specifications and costs.
• Address review comments and manage project administrative items.
• Develop knowledge of relevant codes and software such as AutoCAD and Revit.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or architectural engineering.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in designing commercial, government, academic, R&D, high-rise multi-family, or industrial projects.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, CHVAC/RHVAC, TraneTrace, or eQuest.
• EIT and LEED accreditation preferred; PE license strongly preferred.
