Job summary

RK Industries is seeking a Project Engineer in Phoenix, AZ to join our team on complex mechanical and MEP projects. You will coordinate field operations, procurement, scheduling, and project controls while supporting installation and commissioning of HVAC, plumbing, and utility systems.

With 1+ year of experience, you will work alongside project managers and field staff on industrial, healthcare, and data center projects, driving safety, quality, and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of mechanical project engineering experience.
• Experience in roles like Project Engineer, Field Engineer, or similar construction-focused roles.
• Experience supporting HVAC, plumbing, mechanical systems, process piping, controls, fire protection, or commissioning activities.

Responsibilities

• Manage RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, as-builts, and project documentation.
• Coordinate procurement activities including equipment tracking, vendor communication, and long-lead material management.
• Support project schedules through look-ahead planning, milestone tracking, and coordination of project activities.
• Partner with Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, suppliers, engineers, and clients to support successful project execution.
• Assist with change orders, cost tracking, forecasting, buyout activities, and subcontract administration.
• Participate in site walks, QA/QC inspections, commissioning support, turnover, and project closeout activities.
• Help coordinate the installation and execution of HVAC, plumbing, mechanical, process piping, and utility systems.
• Ensure projects meet safety, quality, and contractual requirements.
