Mechanical Project Engineer

Up to £55,000 (dependent upon experience)

The Role

The Project Engineer will be responsible for creating 3D models and 3D/2D drawings for various mechanical systems and equipment. This position involves overseeing CAD Engineers, ensuring designs meet project specifications, and reviewing documentation for compliance. Regular communication with site teams, clients, and suppliers is essential to ensure projects are successfully delivered.

The role also includes optimising designs for cost, functionality, and manufacturability, while providing support to CAD Engineers and participating in project stage gate meetings.

Requirements

1. Minimum of 5 years' experience in system design.
2. Relevant engineering degree or equivalent work experience.
3. Proficient in 2D and 3D modelling using AutoCAD and Inventor.
4. Strong organisational and leadership skills.
5. Extensive experience in system design and CAD design software.
6. Ability to produce high-quality manufacturing drawings.
7. Solid understanding of design, build, and project delivery methods.
8. Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
9. Focus on health and safety.
10. Ability to travel for site visits and attend meetings as required.
