Job summary

Dematic is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our Global Project Engineering team. The Mechanical Engineering team performs engineering assignments with clear and specified objectives while on multi-discipline project teams.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about engineering projects through to completion, building relationships with customers, and undertaking opportunity in a growing industry and team!

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical preferred).
  • 0-2 years of related experience.
  • Proficient in 3D modeling software and AutoCAD.
  • Experience in material handling/automation projects.
  • Experience in a mechanical engineering role that is project-based (design to installation).
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Able to lead multiple small or mid-sized projects.
  • Understanding of project schedules and budgets.

Responsibilities

  • Complete the design of sophisticated systems that integrate hardware and software.
  • Complete sophisticated material specification, layout/drawing preparation, and follow-up.
  • Recommend ideas related to productivity improvement, cost reduction and customer satisfaction.
  • Perform complex technical interchange for processes and product design.
  • Identify and resolve complex problems with problem-solving skills.
  • Project engineering and commissioning at customer sites.
  • Communicate, train, and work with customers for final system design.
  • Travel up to 25% to different customer locations and Dematic locations.

The base pay range for this role is estimated to be $57,375 - $84,150 at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as work location, education, experience, knowledge, and skills.

Tasks and Qualifications: What You Will Do in this Role:
  • Complete the design of sophisticated systems that integrate hardware and software
  • Complete sophisticated material specification, layout/drawing preparation, and appropriate follow-up
  • Complete recommendations for ideas related to productivity improvement, cost reduction and improvement in customer satisfaction
  • Perform complex technical interchange and knowledge transfer for both processes and application of products to system design
  • Identify and resolves more complex problems and applies problem-solving skills in order to deal with most situations
  • Project Engineering and Commissioning at customer sites
  • Communicate, train, and work with customer for final system design
  • Travels up to 25% to different customer locations/Dematic locations
What We are Looking For:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical Engineering preferred)
  • 0-2 years of successful experience in related field and successful demonstration of Key Responsibilities and Knowledge as presented above.
  • Advanced degree maybe substituted for experience
  • Proficient in 3D modeling software and AutoCAD
  • Experience in Material Handling/automation industry
  • Experience in a Mechanical Engineering position that is project-based (design to installation)
