Job summary

K2M Design is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to contribute to complex projects in a collaborative, growth-oriented culture. The role emphasizes design of mechanical and plumbing systems for commercial and public buildings, with an expectation to deliver accurate drawings and technical documentation.

The position is hybrid and based in Columbus, OH, with travel up to 15% for project support. A Bachelor’s in engineering (ABET) and 5+ years of experience, including Revit, are required to qualify for

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Applied Science from an ABET-accredited college or university
• 5+ years of Mechanical Engineering experience
• Revit proficiency required

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical systems (heating, ventilation, cooling, exhaust, specialty systems) for large commercial/public buildings
• Develop and review drawings, specifications, and data sheets with accuracy
• Perform engineering calculations and produce high-quality drawings
• Contribute to construction admin tasks, RFIs, and drawings review
• Support field work and travel up to 15% as needed

Position Summary: An Engineer who uses experience to perform a variety of assignments requiring skills in all aspects of engineering design for large and complex projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Knowledgeable in the design of mechanical systems including heating, ventilation, cooling, exhaust, and specialty systems for commercial and public buildings
• Knowledgeable in the design of plumbing systems including gas, potable water, sanitary, sewer, fire suppression, and specialty systems for commercial and public buildings.
• Undertakes a variety of assignments requiring the application of standard engineering techniques for small projects or selected segments of a larger project.
• Relies on experience and judgement for design, development, implementation, and analysis of engineering designs and systems.
• Produces high quality, accurate, and consistent drawings.
• Collects and prepares data/information and performs engineering calculations. Develops technical specifications and data sheets.
• Performs construction administration, drawing review, and response to RFI’s.
• Assists in field work. Available to travel, as needed, dependent upon specific project assignments. 15% of time reserved for travel.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Applied Science from an ABET accredited college or university.
• 5+ years experience in the field of Mechanical Engineering.
• Revit proficiency, required.
