Qualifications

  • 4+ years of mechanical or process engineering experience.
  • Experience designing and/or constructing mechanical and process utility systems.
  • Familiarity with construction documents and project delivery processes.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills.
  • Interest in obtaining a PE License or currently pursuing licensure.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the owner's technical representative for mechanical and process mechanical projects.
  • Review and coordinate design and construction deliverables.
  • Develop project scope, budgets, schedules, and engineering solutions.
  • Coordinate with design firms, contractors, project managers, and operations teams.
  • Support design reviews, constructability reviews, and issue resolution.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and project requirements.
  • Participate in field walks, project assessments, and construction coordination.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while balancing schedule, cost, safety, and quality objectives.

Overview
  • We are seeking a Mechanical/Process Project Engineer to support large-scale industrial and high-tech facility projects in an Owner's Representative capacity.
  • This role will oversee mechanical and process mechanical systems throughout the project lifecycle, from scope development and design review through construction and startup.
  • The ideal candidate has experience with HVAC and process utility systems, strong project coordination skills, and the ability to work across engineering, construction, and operations teams.
Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the owner's technical representative for mechanical and process mechanical projects.
  • Review and coordinate design and construction deliverables.
  • Develop project scope, budgets, schedules, and engineering solutions.
  • Coordinate with design firms, contractors, project managers, and operations teams.
  • Support design reviews, constructability reviews, and issue resolution.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and project requirements.
  • Participate in field walks, project assessments, and construction coordination.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while balancing schedule, cost, safety, and quality objectives.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in mechanical or process engineering.
  • Experience designing and/or constructing mechanical and process utility systems.
  • Experience with one or more of the following:
    • Chilled Water Systems
    • HVAC Systems
    • Heating Water Systems
    • Fire Protection Systems
    • Process Exhaust Systems
    • Process Cooling Water Systems
    • Vacuum Systems
    • Oil-Free Air Systems
    • Cleanroom Air Systems
  • Familiarity with construction documents and project delivery processes.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Interest in obtaining a PE License or currently pursuing licensure.
Preferred Qualifications
  • PE License.
  • Semiconductor or advanced manufacturing experience.
  • Construction startup, commissioning, and turnover experience.
  • P&ID development and review experience.
  • BIM and PipeFlo experience.
  • Knowledge of ANSI, SMACNA, and IBC standards.
  • Change management and project controls experience.
  • Technical specification writing experience.
