Job summary

Vanguard EMS, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Process Hybrid Engineer to own high-volume production processes and tooling. You’ll develop new production lines, partner with Customer teams, and support PM/Quality/Product groups, while focusing on DFX and regulatory alignment.

You’ll design fixtures, validate tooling, analyze manufacturing data, and drive continuous improvement with DOE and RCA methods, in a hands-on setting with a strong emphasis on throughput and quality.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or higher in mechanical/manufacturing/industrial fields.
• Customer service oriented with strong written and verbal communication.
• US citizenship is required at minimum.

Responsibilities

• Develop processes and procedures for high complexity assemblies to meet customers’ requirements.
• Design tools, jigs and fixtures for electromechanical assembly processes.
• Lead validation and verification of new production tooling/fixturing.
• Evaluate, commission, qualify and optimize new automated and semi-automated equipment.
• Ensure all equipment has the optimal preventative maintenance defined.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues to minimize downtime.
• Collect, analyze and drive action from manufacturing data.
• Disposition nonconforming products and lead RCA/ACAs.
• Utilize DOE to establish new processes and drive improvements.
• Engage with customers on technical discussions and inquiries.
• Drive DFX with data from process development and NPI builds.
• Ensure customer/regulatory requirements are met across Vanguard processes.
• Create, review and approve internal product documentation.
• Identify, communicate and mitigate risks using FMEA or similar.
• Support production technicians and operators; lead and participate in improvements.
