The candidate will ensure projects are safe, reliable, and compliant with company policies and codes. The position is full-time and requires U.S. citizenship due to government contracting rules.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business with 8+ years nuclear power plant experience, or 10+ years.
  • Passport and Primavera experience.
  • PMP certification desired but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and prepare work instructions for Mechanical-Electrical and contract maintenance organizations for projects and modifications.
  • Select and approve purchases or procure materials for work package execution.
  • Conduct field walkdowns to identify maintenance and modifications and improve work packages.
  • Interface with Work Management, Supply, Operations and Engineering to resolve issues.
  • Define procedures, drawings, equipment, and materials for planned work.
  • Prepare and submit OOSs, RWPs, and necessary permits for package readiness and compliance.
  • Verify work instructions comply with NSPs/NSWPs/ASME/NEC codes and standards.
  • Approve and review all work packages to ensure safety and quality.

Overview: ACS Professional Staffing is looking for an employee to work on-site with our client. This Mechanical Planner - Valve Maintenance III will plan, prepare, coordinate, and provide oversight of mechanical work packages for the Construction and Project Management organization for large- and small-scale projects performed by mechanical and contract maintenance organizations. The role will ensure plant projects are performed in a safe, reliable, and efficient manner and in compliance with company policies, procedures, and applicable codes and standards.

This full-time position is located in Richland, WA.

Pay range: $53.68 - $87.58

Responsibilities: Plan and prepare work instructions that provide direction to Mechanical-Electrical and contract maintenance organizations for projects, implementation of modifications, and preventative and corrective maintenance Select and approve purchases or make procurement recommendations for all materials needed for work package execution Conduct field walkdowns to identify and analyze maintenance, modification, and surveillance activities and to provide input for refining and improving work package quality Interface and collaborate with Work Management, Supply, Operations, and Engineering to identify and resolve work package issues Define procedures, drawings, equipment, and materials required to perform planned work packages Facilitate package preparation by preparing and/or submitting OOSs, RWPs, plant barrier impairments, welding/grinding permits, fire impairments, operability impact statements, ALARA task outs, radiological support tasks, regulatory/code documentation, quality hold/witness points, freeze seal and temporary leak repair documentation, and other requests Verify work instructions are adequate and comply with all applicable station procedures, including NSPs, NSWPs, ASME Code, NEC codes and standards, etc. Approve and review all required work packages to ensure safety, high quality, technical rigor, and 10CFR50.59 screening or evaluation, if required Develop, revise, and review maintenance procedures to facilitate and enhance work package development, maintain compliance with codes, standards, and vendor recommendations, and provide maintenance direction Provide project management of other system planners or contractors to develop detailed elements of overall package preparation Participate in work control/scheduling meetings, planning feedback/craft interface time, detailed contract requisition reviews, complex troubleshooting, maintenance risk, Clearance Order reviews, Planner peer reviews, and system interaction reviews to ensure applicable station processes and applicable changes are supported

Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Business and 8+ years of commercial nuclear power plant experience, or 10+ years of commercial nuclear power plant experience Passport and Primavera experience Experience preparing weld records PMP certification desired, but not required Work sponsorship is not available at this time.
