Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company LLC is seeking a Mechanical Outage Planner to be located on-site in Bridgman, MI. This contract role reports to a client supervisor and involves long-term assignment in a nuclear plant environment.

You will plan work, perform field walk downs, and coordinate with engineers, operations, and vendors to ensure safe, compliant execution of maintenance work. Previous Maximo experience is required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in physical science or engineering or equivalent training.
• 5 years power plant maintenance/operations experience.
• 3 of the 5 years in nuclear plant facility.
• Experience with Maximo and drawings interpretation.

Responsibilities

• Plan daily work tasks using client approved software and procedures.
• Conduct field walk downs to refine work package quality.
• Collaborate with vendor/craft supervisor, work management, operations and engineering to resolve issues.
• Select for purchase or make procurement recommendations for materials for work package execution.
• Review engineering changes and participate in work package development to ensure compliance.
• Perform tasks in hazardous areas within NRC limits.
• Support outage schedule rotation and meet milestones.
• Plan to AP-930 standards and use Maximo.

About the role:In the Mechanical Outage Planner role, you will be located onsite in Bridgman, MI and report to a client supervisor. This is a contract assignment with a long-term duration.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan work tasks daily using client approved software and procedures.
• Conduct field walk downs to provide input for refining and improving work package quality.
• Work and collaborate with vendor/craft supervisor, work management, operations and engineering to resolve work package issues.
• Select for purchase or make procurement recommendations for all materials needed for work package execution.
• Review engineering changes and participate in work breakdown structure meetings to facilitate and enhance work package development, maintain compliance with codes, standards, vendor recommendation and maintenance direction.
• Perform tasks that may involve work in hazardous areas and possible radiation exposure within the limits prescribed by the NRC.
• Support and participate in outage schedule rotation.
• Plan to meet outage milestone commitments.
• Plan to AP-930 standards
• Use computer programs, Action Way (Corrective Action Program), and Maximo.

Qualifications:

• Associate degree in physical science or engineering discipline or the equivalent related technical training or equipment experience in nuclear power plant maintenance.
• 5 years power plant experience in maintenance or operations with 3 of the 5 years in nuclear plant facility.
• Previous experience using Maximo.
• Understand drawings.
• Communicate both written and verbally.
• Be able to pass criminal background, drug/alcohol screen (including medical and recreational marijuana and CBD oil), and employment testing.
