Job summary

Superior Structures Inc. is seeking a design engineer to convert architectural drawings into detailed shop drawings and fabrication plans. You will manage projects from start to finish, track BOMs, and collaborate with manufacturing to keep production moving efficiently.

The role requires a hands-on, open‑minded team player with a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, 5+ years of experience, and proficiency in Revit or Inventor to interpret drawings for shop floor execution.

Qualifications

Superior Structures Inc. is a design, build, steel fabrication company that specializes in outdoor structures and garden centers across the United States and beyond. At our facility, we take a steel structure from design to fabrication to onsite construction. With 100,000 sq ft of space, we have a full weld shop, 2 tube lasers, and a large table laser at our disposal as well as a couple of press brakes. Over the past 26 years Superior Structures Inc. has been rapidly growing with no end in sight.

Responsibilities:

Create shop drawings as needed

Help keep manufacturing run efficiently and explore new ideas

Manage projects from beginning to end

Keep track of BOMs and ordering materials

Help other engineers with day-to-day duties

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in related field

Minimum of 5 years of previous experience

Ability to be open minded and have a hands-on approach

Proficient in using Revit and / or Inventor

Able to interpret architectural drawings and convert them to shop drawings

Able to stay organized and be able to communicate information from the drawing to the

manufacturing floor and help where needed

Able to be a team player, meet deadlines, solve problems and multitask

Knowledge of laser cutting, part nesting, and metal bending with a press break is a plus

Be read to change direction at a moment’s notice to meet a new deadline
