Job summary

Arista Networks seeks a Mechanical NPI Engineer to drive products from concept to high volume manufacturing. You will partner with Hardware, Platform Design, CM partners, and cross-functional teams to ensure successful launches and scalable tooling, fixtures, and jigs.

You will lead NPI activities, optimize processes, manage BOMs and ECOs, and apply DFx and ECO knowledge across mechanical and E/M components, with a focus on manufacturability and cost. Some travel is required.

Qualifications

• 1-3+ years in Mechanical De Manufacturing Product, Process, or NPI Engineering in electronics manufacturing environment.
• Experience in networking products related to routing, switching and data center.
• Solid knowledge of ECO, BOM and Deviation processes; Agile a plus.
• DFx knowledge including DFM, DFA, DFT, DFQ/DFR and fixture design.
• Experience with CNC, injection molding, sheet metal, coatings and finishing.
• Experience with contract manufacturers and Asia supply chain.
• Ability to set technical direction via new manufacturing technologies.
• Ability to understand tolerance stack-ups; independent and team player.
• Proficient in Creo; some travel required.
• B.S./M.S. in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Lead NPI activities from prototype builds through production ramp.
• Develop and optimize manufacturing processes for scalable, efficient production.
• Apply electromechanical manufacturing expertise and drive DFM/Design for Cost improvements.
• Conduct root cause analysis for quality issues with contract manufacturers and suppliers.
• Lead assembly process development for high-quality, efficient workflows.
• Collaborate with Hardware and Mechanical Engineering to resolve build challenges and improve yield.
• Design and develop tooling, fixtures, and assembly aids for high-volume manufacturing.
• Manage BOMs, Deviations, MCOs, and ECOs with strict version control.
• Utilize PLM systems (Agile, Propel) to manage lifecycle documentation.
• Support full NPI lifecycle from prototyping to production release and sustaining.
• Drive data center equipment lifecycle management focused on manufacturability.
• Develop best practices to enhance manufacturing efficiency, quality, and scalability.
• Collaborate with supply chain and procurement for material readiness.
• Optimize inventory management to reduce waste and improve throughput.
