Qualifications

• Four-year degree in a relevant engineering field, preferably mechanical, industrial, or manufacturing.
• 20+ years in an applicable engineering field, 5-10+ years in a leadership role.
• Proficiency in modern manufacturing methods and processes.
• Proficiency in Lean problem solving, mastery of these skills is preferred.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret mechanical/electrical schematics and customer specifications. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers.

Mathematical Skills

Excellent math skills are required. Individuals in this position must be able to perform engineering calculations employing algebra, geometry, and trigonometry as required.

Computer Skills

• Proficient with 3D CAD software, SolidWorks, or 3DInventor.
• Proficient with 2D AutoCAD.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office products, especially Excel and Outlook.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and sit. Employee spends time on shop floor, which could be significant portions of the day at times and require lifting up to 50 lbs. This role also requires spending time sitting in front of a computer.

Travel

Typically 15% or less.

Work Environment

The employee works in the office but does have frequent interaction with personnel on the shop floor. Typical workdays are split between the two environments but can sometimes be skewed heavily towards one or the other depending on work content at any given time. The employee may also be required to travel occasionally to work in customers' plants or at suppliers. In plants, the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is mixed but does not require hearing protection in most areas. This position is on site in Port Clinton, OH.
