Riot Platforms, Inc. in Rockdale, TX is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Team member to operate pumps, perform routine maintenance, and troubleshoot HVAC equipment in a data center environment. You will report to the Mechanical Maintenance Assistant Supervisor and work 7:00 a.m.

to 3:30 p.m. The role emphasizes safety, documentation, and collaboration with facilities and electrical teams. Candidates should have a high school diploma and HVAC/chiller experience, with EPA certification preferred;

Responsibilities

• Operate centrifugal, diaphragm, and other pump types and perform routine maintenance.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure safe, reliable operations.
• Respond quickly to emergencies affecting pump systems and maintain safety protocols.

About this role

We are looking to add a Mechanical Maintenance Team member to our growing Mechanical Maintenance Department. As part of the Mechanical Maintenance Team, you will report to our Mechanical Maintenance Assistant Supervisor and be responsible for operating carious types of pumps, conducting routine maintenance and inspections, troubleshooting and repairing pump-related issues, chillers, and other HVAC equipment while ensuring compliance with safety protocols. This position is based in Rockdale, TX, with working hours from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

What you’ll be doing

• Skillfully handle different kinds of pumps such as centrifugal, diaphragm, and positive displacement pumps.
• Conduct regular maintenance checks, including lubrication and replacement of worn parts.
• Diagnose and fix issues with pump systems, ensuring minimal downtime.
• Accurately document operations, maintenance activities, and any incidents or repairs.
• Work effectively with other team members and communicate efficiently to ensure smooth operations.
• Have a solid understanding of pump mechanics, fluid dynamics, and potentially electrical systems related to pumps.
• Be prepared to respond quickly and effectively to emergency situations involving pump systems.
• Engage in continuous learning and training to enhance pump operation and maintenance skills.
• Monitor and adjust pump operations to meet the required quality standards and optimize performance.
• Employ strong problem-solving skills to address and resolve operational challenges efficiently.
• Routine maintenance would extend to tanks, head exchangers, as well as chillers and coil maintenance.
• Utilizing water truck to replenish water to site areas as needed
• Freeze protection protocols are within the scope of the job

What you’ll have

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot operational challenges involving pump and evaporation systems.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with Data Center, Miner Maintenance, Electrical, Facilities, Construction, and other stakeholders.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand and troubleshoot mechanical systems and equipment such as chillers and condensers and water pumps.
• Ability to think critically, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects and responsibilities effectively.
• Detail-oriented, highly organized, and self-motivated, with a strong commitment to quality and accuracy.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Excellent manual dexterity and the ability to safely operate tools and equipment.
• Ability to respond quickly and effectively to emergency situations while maintaining a focus on safety and quality control.
• Proficiency in fluid and thermal dynamics as they relate to pump and evaporation systems.
• Ability to work in physically demanding environments, including climbing ladders and accessing confined or awkward spaces.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training, certifications, or experience related to pump operation is preferred.
• HVAC or chiller experience is preferred. (EPA certification)
• Commitment to following safety procedures, maintaining equipment standards, and supporting continuous improvement.

• Ability to lift and move equipment as needed (50 pounds)

• Ability to workonsitein amining ordata center environment (heat, noise, etc.)

• Exposure to high noise levels and varying temperatures
