The University of New England seeks a Mechanical Maintenance Project Manager to plan, coordinate, and manage repairs, replacements, upgrades, and installations across UNE facilities with a focus on HVAC, plumbing, and building systems.
In this role you will lead technical projects within Facilities Management, partner with campus staff and contractors, develop scopes of work, track budgets, and ensure safe, efficient completion with minimal disruption to university operations.

The Mechanical Maintenance Project Manager is responsible forplanning, coordinating, and managing the repair, replacement,upgrade, and installation projects in existing UNE facilities, witha primary focus on HVAC, plumbing, hydronic heating and cooling,steam and hot water systems, building automation controls, andrelated mechanical infrastructure.
This position serves as a technical project manager withinFacilities Management and supports reliable building operations,preventive maintenance, energy efficiency, and code compliance ofmechanical infrastructure. The role works closely with the facilitymanagers, maintenance staff, contractors, engineers, vendors, andstakeholders to identify mechanical system needs, develop scopes ofwork, coordinate repairs and upgrades, and ensure projects arecompleted safely, efficiently, and with minimal disruption touniversity operations.
This position supports mechanical capital renewal and deferredmaintenance planning, budgeting, prioritization, and execution incoordination with Facilities leadership, Campus Planning, vendors,and other campus stakeholders.

Candidates must meet one of the following qualificationpathways:
Some post-secondary education or related training in constructionmanagement, project management, engineering, facilities management,or a related field and Five or more years of experience managingmechanical installation, repair, replacement, facilitiesmaintenance, capital renewal, or deferred maintenance projects; oran equivalent combination of education, training, andexperience.Experience should include coordinating mechanical scopesof work, contractors, vendors, schedules, budgets, shutdowns,materials, documentation, and project closeout in existingcommercial, campus, health care, institutional, or similarfacilities.
Five to ten years of relevant technical training and experience inHVAC, plumbing, boilers, hydronic systems, building controls,mechanical maintenance, facilities maintenance, or related buildingsystems, including demonstrated experience coordinating mechanicalinstallation, repair, replacement, upgrade, or maintenance projectsinvolving contractors, vendors, schedules, materials, shutdowns,documentation, and technical trades in an existing commercial,institutional, higher education, health care, or similar facilitiesenvironment.Candidates qualifying under this pathway must hold atleast one of the following licenses or certifications:
Additional trade licenses, technical certifications, manufacturertraining, or project management certifications may also supportqualifications when relevant to university needs.
