Qualifications

• Ability to motivate students from diverse backgrounds.
• Ability to assemble, repair and troubleshoot hydraulic circuits.
• Ability to read hydraulic schematics and drawings.
• Mechanical aptitude with experience repairing industrial equipment.
• Experience with HVACR systems and equipment preferred.
• Experience with millwright and rigging fundamentals.
• EPA certification preferred.

Purpose of Role

Prepares for and teaches Industrial Technology courses in industrial maintenance mechanics. Conducts labs as assigned by the department chair of the Industrial Technology department.

Responsibilities

• Develop and teach training courses two evenings per week, 6:00 - 9:30 pm plus 1/2 hour prep time.
• Instructs and evaluates students in a live work setting who are performing industrial maintenance, to include instruction in shop safety.
• Maintains a safe worksite and enforces Ranken’s safety standards.
• Assists in the maintenance of lab and classroom equipment.
• Assists management with developing curriculum and syllabi, scheduling, budgeting, hiring, and other duties.
• Participates in college governance, committee work, student advising, etc.
• Participates in available training to keep current in Industrial Technology.
• Assists in maintaining requirements of industry standards.
• Performs other duties as assigned by authorized individual.

Qualifications

• Community college or technical school teaching experience preferred but will train.
• Excellent presentation skills including strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to read and interpret hydraulic schematics and drawings.
• Mechanically inclined and experienced with mechanical repairs on industrial equipment.
• Experience with heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems and equipment preferred.
• Experience with millwright and rigging fundamentals.
• EPA certified preferred.
