Smurfit Westrock seeks a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer for the West Point, VA Mill. You will support rotating equipment, tanks, vessels, and structural initiatives, coordinating with maintenance leadership to deliver safe, reliable maintenance programs.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in mechanical engineering, 3–5 years of related experience, and proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Project. You will lead preventive maintenance efforts and supervise contractors to meet deadlines and budgets.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s in mechanical engineering or mechanical engineering technology.
• 3–5 years related work experience in mechanical design or related discipline.
• Co-op experience in a heavy industrial facility or equivalent full-time experience.
• General maintenance knowledge of process equipment (pumps, compressors, fans).
• Ability to work in a fast-paced industrial environment with tight deadlines.

Aufgaben

• Initiate Management of Change (MOC) processes with cost estimates and action items follow-up.
• Support Six Sigma projects to improve maintenance and reliability.
• Identify critical spare parts for new equipment and update BOMs; develop preventive maintenance plans.
• Supervise contractors to ensure safety, schedule, budget, and WestRock standards.
• Oversee the welding, machine and pump shops within the mill.
