Job summary

ATI is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for our Vandergrift operations in Vandergrift, PA. The role reports to the Superintendent, Maintenance, and focuses on maintaining equipment, leading capital projects, and driving reliability improvements.

The candidate will develop SOPs, perform root-cause analysis, and implement condition-based maintenance strategies using predictive technologies to reduce downtime and improve cost of quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
• Minimum two years of experience supervising employees in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to work with and lead a diverse hourly workforce.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support for maintaining equipment.
• Engineer and coordinate capital projects with outside vendors to upgrade equipment.
• Develop SOPs to improve maintenance quality and reduce problems.
• Initiate improvements using breakdown data and root-cause analysis.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently.
• Use predictive technology to improve equipment reliability and move PMs to condition-based evaluations.
• Apply the RCM process to ensure equipment reliability and performance.

We are currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer for our Vandergrift Operations in Vandergrift, PA. This position reports directly to the Superintendent, Maintenance.

Essential Functions

• Provide engineering expertise and support for maintaining equipment.
• Engineer and coordinate capital projects and interface with outside vendors in the process to implement cost effective and timely upgrades to equipment.
• Develop standard operating procedures to improve maintenance quality and reduce or eliminate problems. Seek opportunities to solve problems to the root cause, eliminating future failures.
• Initiate improvements to the equipment. Use breakdown data to evaluate highest frequency of failures, and then develop strategies to mitigate the problem.
• Troubleshoot and inspect problems, analyze and resolve issues accurately and efficiently.
• Use predictive technology to drive equipment reliability. Seek opportunities to replace time based PM's with condition based evaluations.
• Utilize the RCM process to ensure the plant's equipment reliability and performance functions as required to assist the plant in producing the required level of quality and targeted Cost of Quality

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Exceptional organization and planning skills.
• Proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft Office
• Ability to quickly pick up on computerized maintenance management software and use effectively with a planning process to improve down day repairs.
• This is a daylight position, However, must have the ability to work shifts, including weekends, as required.
• Candidates should have a strong work ethic and the ability to work in a highly motivated team environment.
