M.J. Nester Specialty Contractors seeks a Mechanical Lead in the Pottstown, PA area who will provide hands-on leadership in welding, pipefitting, rigging, and mechanical construction.

This full-time hourly role requires up to 75% travel and a focus on safety, quality workmanship, and team mentorship. The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of welding experience, proficiency in MIG/TIG/Stick, and the ability to read welding symbols and fabrication drawings.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of welding experience required.
• Ability to read welding symbols and fabrication drawings.
• Experience with pipe installation and mechanical assembly.
• Strong attention to safety and quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

• Perform and oversee welding tasks (MIG, TIG, Stick, Flux-Core).
• Inspect welds for quality and compliance with specifications.
• Train and support junior welders and apprentices.
• Maintain welding equipment and ensure proper usage.
• Perform and oversee pipefitting activities, including layout, fit-up, assembly, and installation of process piping systems.
• Perform grinding, cutting, fitting, and fabrication of metal components as required.
• Safely perform rigging and material handling activities using hoists and other equipment.
• Assist with installation and maintenance of mechanical equipment and systems.
• Lead by example through professionalism and adherence to safety protocols.
