Job summary

OTC Industrial Technologies in Kingman, AZ seeks a Mechanical Lead to guide technicians, troubleshoot repairs, and ensure safety and quality on rotating equipment such as pumps, turbines, and gearboxes. You will work with the Shop Manager to keep priorities aligned and deliver reliable service at a competitive hourly wage.

The role requires 5+ years of hands-on experience, plus 1-2+ years in a lead or supervisory position, and a strong knowledge of mechanical fits, tolerances, and OEM standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical school training or mechanical certification preferred.
• 5+ years of hands-on rotating equipment repair experience in an industrial environment.
• 1-2+ years of lead or supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of pumps and rotating equipment, fits, tolerances, alignment, and repair practices.
• Proficiency with precision measuring tools including micrometers, calipers, and dial indicators.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, OEM manuals, and specifications.
• Familiarity with API, ANSI, and OEM standards.
• Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Forklift and overhead crane experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to customer sites as needed.
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work safely in shop and field environments.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Shop Manager in coordinating daily work and priorities.
• Disassemble, inspect, repair, and reassemble pumps, compressors, turbines, gearboxes, and other rotating equipment.
• Troubleshoot complex mechanical issues and assist with root cause analysis of equipment failures.
• Provide technical guidance and hands-on support to technicians during repairs.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, OEM manuals, mechanical schematics, and repair specifications.
• Verify measurements, fits, tolerances, alignment, and repair quality using precision measuring tools.
• Document repair findings, measurements, tolerances, parts used, and completed work.
• Promote a safe, clean, and organized work environment while ensuring compliance with safety standards.

You'll work alongside the Shop Manager to guide technicians, troubleshoot complex repairs, and ensure work is completed safely and to the highest quality standards.
