Job summary

GE Vernova is seeking a Mechanical Lab Test Engineer in the United States to execute laboratory testing, data acquisition, and test rig assembly for product validation. You will design test facilities and instrumentation systems, and may lead a junior team while interfacing with customers to explain technical data.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field with 2 years of mechanical test experience or a high school diploma with 5 years in a mechanical test

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or technical field with 2 years of mechanical test environment experience
• OR High School diploma/GED and 5 years of mechanical test environment experience
• Experience with high pressure hydraulics in a test environment
• Experience with Toolbox and pitch systems
• Qualified rigger with current certification
• MTS Controls Software experience
• Experience with large structures and maintenance of them
• Experience with maintaining complex hydraulic infrastructure and LOTO for those systems
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Instrumentation experience including strain gage installation and checkout
• Strong teamwork capability with focus on knowledge sharing
• 5 years experience in a mechanical test lab environment

Responsibilities

• Execute laboratory testing, inspection and data acquisition for validation of products and services
• Design and construct test facilities, instrumentation systems and test software
• Broaden knowledge of own discipline and support roles with specialized technical knowledge
• Make decisions within a defined framework and consult senior members for issues outside instructions
• Lead junior team members; communicate with customers and GE Vernova
• Handle all testing aspects from initial discussions with engineering to data system and test rig assembly and close of test in eTOS
