Job summary

Heidelberg Materials is seeking a motivated Mechanical Engineering intern to support maintenance and reliability projects at our cement plant in South Carolina. You’ll analyze equipment performance data, assist with inspections, and help develop maintenance documentation, contributing to safety and uptime.

It’s preferred to be pursuing a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering, with strong problem-solving, teamwork, and MS Office skills.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Ability to analyze technical problems and develop practical solutions.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and aptitude for learning engineering systems.

Responsibilities

• Support mechanical maintenance and reliability improvement projects across cement plant operations.
• Analyze equipment performance data and help identify opportunities to improve efficiency, uptime, and safety.
• Collaborate with engineers and plant teams to troubleshoot mechanical systems and resolve operational challenges.
• Assist with project planning, equipment inspections, and development of maintenance documentation.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives that enhance plant performance and sustainability.
