Job summary

Batchelor & Kimball in Birmingham, AL invites a Mechanical Engineering student to join our team as an internship. You will work with the project manager team, assisting with engineering responsibilities including design and field observations, and producing documents in AutoCAD and Revit.

This in-office internship offers hands-on exposure to field installations and mentorship from senior engineers; relocation is not offered.

Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled in an accredited US college or university engineering degree program.
• Experience with AutoCAD or Revit is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Precon: Takeoffs, estimate reviews, job-site walk-throughs, and other tasks for preparing estimates and proposals.
• Operations – PM Assistance: submittal and RFI processing, meetings with action items, vendor/subcontractor management assistance, field visits to interface with foremen, jobsite inspections, closeout documents, and final assignment presentation.
