Job summary

DESE Research, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Integration Engineer in Huntsville to coordinate mechanical integration activities across cross-functional teams, industry partners, and government stakeholders.

The role emphasizes leading technical discussions, planning, and delivering robust mechanical designs for complex systems. The candidate should have a strong mechanical engineering background, excellent communication, and proven ability to drive tasks from planning through execution,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related technical discipline is required.
• Experience supporting mechanical engineering design, development, integration, or system-level engineering activities.
• Demonstrated ability to organize technical work, manage priorities, and coordinate with multiple engineering disciplines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a primary mechanical engineering focal point, coordinating activities across cross-functional teams, industry contractors, and government stakeholders.
• Lead and facilitate technical meetings with clear agendas, objectives, action items, and follow-up.
• Independently manage assigned tasks, priorities, and schedules with effective communication to teams and program leadership.
• Drive mechanical integration activities from planning through execution, verification, and closure.
• Translate concepts into detailed mechanical designs, 3D CAD models, and drawings.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to define, evaluate, and validate interfaces across the lifecycle.
• Support design verification through calculations, prototyping, testing, and simulation as appropriate.
• Communicate challenges, risks, and solutions to stakeholders and leadership.
