Job summary

Select Contractors Inc. is growing and currently seeking experienced Mechanical Insulators to join our field team in Atlanta, Georgia. The role involves installing mechanical insulation on piping, ducts, and equipment for commercial/industrial projects across the Southeast, with travel required.

Starting pay is $22+ per hour, with higher rates for experienced candidates. Additional compensation includes a weekly gas stipend, increased out-of-town pay, and per diem for qualified projects.

Starting Pay: $22+ per hour

Starting pay is based on experience and skill level, and higher rates are available for experienced candidates.

Additional compensation includes:

• $50 weekly gas stipend
• Increased hourly pay for out-of-town work
• Per diem for qualifying out-of-town work
• Opportunities for additional hours depending on project requirements

Responsibilities

As a Mechanical Insulator, you may be responsible for:

• Installing mechanical insulation on piping, ductwork, equipment, and related systems
• Measuring, cutting, fitting, and securing insulation materials
• Installing jackets, vapor barriers, fittings, and related insulation components
• Reading project plans, specifications, and field measurements
• Maintaining quality workmanship and minimizing material waste and rework
• Following project-specific installation requirements
• Maintaining a clean and organized work area
• Following Select Contractors and jobsite safety requirements
• Communicating material, field-condition, or installation concerns to the Foreman or Superintendent
• Working efficiently with Foremen, Superintendents, and other field team members

Qualifications

We are looking for candidates who:

• Haveprevious mechanical insulation experience
• Understand proper insulation installation techniques
• Can accurately measure, cut, fit, and install insulation
• Have strong attention to quality and detail
• Are dependable and able to report to assigned jobsites on time
• Can work safely in active commercial and industrial construction environments
• Can work independently as well as part of a crew
• Are willing to follow company and project safety procedures
• Have reliable transportation
• Must be able and willing to travel both in-state and out-of-state for work

Experience with pipe insulation, fittings, PVC or metal jacketing, fiberglass, elastomeric insulation, duct insulation, or industrial insulation systems is a plus.

Travel

This position requires flexibility to work on projects throughout Georgia and other states as Select Contractors' project needs require.

Employees assigned to qualifying out-of-town work receive:

Increased out-of-town pay + applicable per diem.
