Job summary

W J Bachman Mechanical Sheetmetal Co. of FL Inc. is seeking skilled Mechanical HVAC Insulators to join our commercial field operations team. You will install insulation on HVAC ductwork, piping, and mechanical equipment to meet performance and safety standards.

This hands-on role rewards craftsmanship and teamwork within a high-performing mechanical construction environment. OSHA certification or trade certs are preferred, with potential travel and steady project opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience: 2 years of mechanical or HVAC insulation experience preferred.
• Technical Skills: Working knowledge of insulation materials (fiberglass, foam, elastomeric, etc.), tools, and installation methods.
• Blueprint Reading: Ability to interpret mechanical drawings and project plans.
• Certifications: OSHA certification or relevant trade certifications preferred (or willingness to obtain).
• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift materials, work at heights, in confined spaces, and in varying Florida weather conditions.
• Reliable transportation and strong attendance record.
• A professional review will be completed as part of the onboarding process, in compliance with applicable laws.

Responsibilities

• Install insulation on HVAC ductwork, piping, and mechanical equipment according to project specifications
• Measure, cut, fit, and apply insulation materials accurately and efficiently
• Seal insulation systems to prevent energy loss and condensation issues
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
• Ensure compliance with OSHA standards and company safety policies
• Coordinate daily tasks with foremen, supervisors, and other trade crews
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas
• Assist with staging materials and handling jobsite logistics as needed
• Inspect completed insulation systems to ensure quality standards are met

Work Schedule

• Full-Time

Work Location

• Primarily on‑site at commercial project locations throughout the Nashville, TN region

• Occasional travel to regional project sites may be required, with per diem provided
