A conveyor systems solutions provider in Chicago is seeking an Installer who will handle the installation and maintenance of conveyor systems across various facilities. This position involves 100% travel, including daily Per Diem, ensuring every installation meets quality standards.

Please Note: This position is 100% travel and will include daily Per Diem.

Position Description

The Installer plays a critical role in the installation, maintenance, and repair of conveyor systems used in warehouses, manufacturing facilities, and distribution centers. This position requires hands‑on technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team to ensure the proper functioning of conveyor systems.

Duties / Responsibilities
  • Install and assemble conveyor systems based on engineering drawings, blueprints, and project specifications
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure accurate alignment, leveling, and integration of conveyor components
  • Identify and troubleshoot mechanical issues with conveyor systems during installation
  • Implement corrective measures to resolve problems and ensure optimal system performance
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks to prevent conveyor system failures
  • Conduct repairs and replacements of conveyor components, such as belts, rollers, motors, and sensors
  • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines during all installation and maintenance activities
  • Conduct safety inspections and ensure the use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other team members to coordinate installation schedules and project timelines
  • Communicate effectively with team members to ensure a smooth workflow
  • Maintain accurate records of installation and maintenance activities
  • Complete installation reports, checklists, and service documentation as required
  • Ensure that all installed conveyor systems meet quality standards and adhere to project specifications
  • Conduct quality checks and inspections to verify proper functionality
  • Provide training and guidance to junior installers or maintenance technicians
  • Share knowledge and best practices related to conveyor system installation and maintenance
  • Interact with customers during installation projects, addressing inquiries and ensuring customer satisfaction
  • Provide guidance on the proper use and maintenance of conveyor systems
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency in conveyor system installation and maintenance
  • Stay informed about industry advancements and new technologies
Required Skills / Abilities
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and hands‑on technical skills
  • Familiarity with reading engineering drawings and blueprints
  • Advanced drawing and blueprint reading
  • Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations in industrial settings
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Willingness to work in diverse environments, including warehouses and manufacturing facilities
Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in conveyor systems is a plus.
  • Proven experience in the installation and maintenance of conveyor systems (Preferred)
  • Ability to judge distances
  • Exposure to loud noises/machinery
  • Potential Fume Exposure
  • Ability to withstand various environmental conditions:
  • Indoor/Outdoor/High Temps/Low Temps
