Job summary

TREW LLC in Lyndhurst, NJ seeks a Maintenance Technician to perform reactive and scheduled maintenance tasks with a hands-on, can-do attitude. You will follow safety plans, support material handling equipment, and create and update work orders while coordinating with the service manager.

Ideal candidates have experience with electrical/mechanical systems, strong problem-solving and communication skills, and the ability to work overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform reactive and scheduled maintenance tasks per supervisor instructions.

• Support material handling equipment maintenance and PM schedules.
• Document work orders, identify hazards, and report them promptly.
• Assist with training and scheduling of technicians and project work.

Pay Range: $54 - $58 (based on experience)

The essential functions of the maintenance technician are to act as a representative of Trew by providing excellent customer service through execution and completion of reactive and scheduled maintenance tasks assigned by the service manager or other supervisors. The individual in this role must have a hands-on, and \u201ccan do\u201d attitude.

You will be...

• Following all company safety plans
• Providing superior Customer Experience
• Providing operational support of material handling equipment (MHE)
• Performing Mechanical and Electrical preventative and corrective maintenance
• Creating, updating and completing work orders
• Advising your supervisor of potential hazards (safety and operational)
• Available as needed for emergency calls and periodic overtime
• Supporting and assisting project work
• The on-site, Key 2 contact and escalation point for any downtime events or customer concerns
• Assisting with Key 2 technician scheduling for call offs and customer change requests
• Overseeing PM Schedule compliance from Key 2 technicians
• Assisting supervisor with reviews of Key 2 technicians
• Assisting supervisor with training of Key 2 technicians
• Assisting supervisor with reporting when necessary

You will need...

• High attention to detail exceptional organizational skills
• Experience testing and maintaining electrical equipment using hand and power tools
• Experience diagnosing malfunctioning systems to locate problems and make repairs
• Experience inspecting electrical systems and their connections to identify hazards
• Ability to use software programs such as MS Office, CMMS, etc...
• Ability to complete work in a timely, accurate and thorough manner
• Effective verbal and written communication skills with leadership, colleagues and other internal and external contacts
• Ability to exhibit a professional manner in dealing with others along with the ability to maintain constructive working relationships
• Ability to prioritize to meet customer expectations
• Thorough knowledge of parts inventory location and use
• Ability to work in excess of 40 hours per week as required

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is required to talk and hear. The employee will frequently lift on average 25-50lbs throughout the course of a business day. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment can be considered quite loud in certain working environments.
